Happy Thanksgiving!

Our hearts are so full and we are very blessed this Thanksgiving!  So much to be thankful for that we're not sure where to even begin. We wish all our family and friends near and far a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving and we send our love!

Happy Thanksgiving from our little pilgrim! :)

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

Snow Day!

Doesn't she look so grown-up?!
Well, in typical Portland-Metro fashion, we over-reacted to the not so HUGE snowstorm and cancelled school today, in addition to the crazy media build up last night over our "Arctic Blast!"

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the snow, but this is more like a light dusting with some ice in places.  I know that the higher elevations probably do have much more snow & ice then we do, so I can see why the school districts are being cautious (except Portland who had conferences today....poor Andy has to work till 8 tonight)  I just want my snow day to have a little more snow so we can ACTUALLY play in it!  I guess it just seems so anti-climatic to me.

Anyway,  after at least a half-hour worth of getting ready we headed outside into the bitter cold for maybe 10 minutes of play time! ;)  Ella loved it and just ran around.  Poor Addilyn had trouble walking...she looked so funny!  We usually get the girls their snow stuff at the Columbia Outlet in the spring for a steal, but never made it last year, so Addilyn is wearing a 6 month size snow pants.  They are way too short for her, but the boots cover the exposed part so we are all good, right?! ;)  I'm guessing this may have added to her trouble with walking in the snow?!  However, she did enjoy just laying on the deck and eating the snow.  :)

Ready to go!

Her favorite part....eating the snow!

Trying to stand!  She would slowly inch her way up and then at this point say, "I stuck mommy!"
This cracked me up....I know I should have helped
her but it was too cute and I had to get a picture of it!

Eating the snow!  Apparently quite yummy as she did it the whole time we were out!

This reminded me so much of Ella at this age! :)

Family pics....

We were so happy to have received a free session by winning a contest last year with sweet Addilyn's darling photo seen here: http://randisphotography.blogspot.com/2010/04/photo-contest.html (She's #6)

Here is a glimpse at our pictures we had taken last week: http://randisphotography.blogspot.com/2010/11/mckean-family.html

Our photographer is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!  And a BIG thank you to my brother, Dan, for going with us and helping out the whole time.....we really couldn't have done it without you!  Love you! :)

Super Bee!

Super Bee comes home with students who have super "bee"havior!  This is Ella's second time to bring him home....very exciting and in the world of a preschooler it's a VERY BIG deal! ;)  As her proud Mommy I must brag a little more....at her conference today her teacher said she is doing a great job, scored one of the highest scores on the test, and is the absolute best listener in the class. (wish it was this way at home!)  We already think she's amazing, but it was wonderful to hear such nice compliments from her teacher. :)  We're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate her success!  Way to go Ella! :)

Halloween Recap

Go Ducks! Andy & Ella found the white pumpkin and thought it looked like a football....thus an idea was born!  Andy actually taped off the pumpkin and painted it brown.  I think it turned out so cool!  Then we had to give a shout out to our favorite football team who also happens to be #1!!! WhoHoo!
Our "White Rabbit" from Alice in Wonderland....complete with her ahem, handmade felt clock bag! (I know we're silly over-achievers, but what can I say, we're both first-borns! And Erin, the master felt fairy, I thought of you the whole time I was making it!)   We taught her to say, "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"  But really all she wanted to say that night was "twick er tweat!" and "CANDY!!!!!" followed quickly by, "Open, peas! Open, peas!"  Which sounds cute and all until the screaming began after we would put it in the bag!  Still a little too young to understand the whole concept.  She & I went home early and let Andy & Ella (the die-hards) continue on without us.

Alice & her favorite White Rabbit!

Ready to go!  She seriously sprinted from house to house at the beginning.  She was soooo excited as you can tell from the  picture! We were so glad that the rain and even the cold decided to take a little break for our trick or treating adventure. :)
Not to be out done by my creative husband, here's my "spooktacular" sign that I made and Ella's very cute pumpkin.  She helped Andy pick out the face and then trace it on the pumpkin so he could carve it.  Needless to say, it was a very fun weekend! :)
