Fall Festival

Ella's preschool had it's Fall Festival this last Sunday. Our little "Alice in Wonderland" and "The White Rabbit" had a great time playing games, decorating pumpkins, eating way too many sweets, and bouncing in the huge bouncy house.  It was also Ella's weekend to bring home Curious George for an adventure and write about it in the class journal....thus, why all the pics have him in it.  Hoping to get a better picture this weekend of the girls in their costumes, but Addilyn is at a really hard stage....she WILL NOT sit still for more than 10 seconds....no joke!

Pumpkin Patch

Friday Andy had the day off from school and it ended up being a beautiful day despite the forecast for rain.  We headed off to the zoo nice and early and avoided much of the crowds, didn't have to fight for a parking spot or wait in a long line.  We were pretty proud of ourselves!  Ella & Addilyn loved running around and checking out all the animals.  We decided to leave at lunchtime and already the place was....well, a ZOO! ;)  After lunch and naps we looked outside and the clouds had all burned off and it was actually quite warm so we decided  maybe we should head to the pumpkin patch while we had the chance.  So glad we did because we woke up Saturday morning to rain, rain, and more rain.  It's barely stopped the rest of the weekend.  We had a wonderful day together as a family and we are so glad that we were able to enjoy a beautiful day together.  Not that yesterday was bad....staying inside, warm and cozy and watching the football game was fun, too!  "The Go Ducks!" as Ella likes to call them and "Quack, Quack" as Addilyn calls them won again!  WooHoo! :)

Kids say the darndest things!

Had to share a couple funny things the girls said recently....

Ella learned her bible verse at church, John 6:48 (Jesus said) I am the bread of life.
When Ella recited it to us it was: "Jesus said, I am the loaf of bread."  :)

Addilyn did something naughty and Ella told her to say sorry to Jesus.  Addilyn quickly says, "Sorry bee-bop!"  Of course we all laughed so it has now become her "joke" and she says it often if she wants us to all laugh.  :)

Ella asked Andy what a fat tummy was.  He explained and then told her it wasn't nice to point it out as it could hurt someone's feelings, etc.  She then says, "Well, I guess I shouldn't have obeyed Grandma McKean when she told me to go tell Grandpa he has a fat tummy!" :)

I could probably do a post like this everyday because they are always saying something that is just too cute or funny (at least I think so!), and I thank God that I get to be home with them and share in their days.  This time is very precious and I intend to savor every moment of it.   Now if I can just remember this on our very worst of days. ;)

"inkerbell"

Ella loves pretty much anything with the Disney stamp on it....princesses, fairies, mickey mouse, and the list goes on and on.  She loves to wear her tinkerbell jammies and insisted that Addilyn wear hers too so they could be twins!  Addilyn kept pointing to her tummy and saying, "inkerbell, inkerbell!"  We are of course biased and we thought it was sooooo cute! :)  But in the morning I remembered why I don't put her to bed in nightgowns.....because the diaper is accessible!  I was awoken with the words, "Mommy, diapey, yuck, yuck!"  Not good words to hear from a 19 month old!  Yep, the diaper was off and the crib was a mess....fun times!  At least they are a couple of cuties! :)
